Uniandes Choir The University of the Andes Choir is a group of 60 undergraduate and graduate students from all the university departments joined by a great love for singing. The choir’s repertoire ranges from a-cappella pieces to choral-symphonic music of diverse genres and styles, from the 16th century to the present.
The Uniandes Choir is renowned for presenting an annual season of innovating programming, singing different types of choral repertoire and presenting masterpieces of the choral symphonic literature such as Mozart’s "Requiem" (2008), Handel’s "Messiah" (2009), Haydn’s "Theresienmesse" (2010), J.S. Bach’s "Magnificat" (2010), H. Purcell's "Te Deum", and Beethoven’s "Mass in C Major" (2011).
In 2011, the University of the Andes Choir celebrated its fiftieth anniversary of artistic activity. In May-June 2012, the Uniandes Choir travelled on concert tour to China. Presently, the Choir is preparing for the Colombian premiere of the Opera "Ester" by Colombian composer José María Ponce de León.
